Proxy Cheap User Reviews
Proxy Cheap offers a comprehensive range of web scraping and data collection products, from proxies to data sets and data APIs.
User Review Summary
Reviewers report conflicting experiences with customer support, with some praising the speed and helpfulness of agents while others criticize long wait times and the practice of closing chats prematurely. Users frequently complain about poor proxy quality, citing inconsistent geolocations, frequent disconnections, and IPs that are already banned or flagged. While some customers appreciate the low latency and smooth authorization, others report difficulties obtaining full refunds for defective services and issues with UI navigation.
Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience. The service was unreliable, speeds were inconsistent, and connections often failed. I also found the overall performance frustrating for the price. Support did not resolve my issues quickly. I expected a much more stable and dependable proxy service, but this did not meet my expectations. Definitely needs significant improvement.
False advertising - Corporate IP instead of Residential (PC-711152)
I paid for a Static Residential ISP proxy (ID #2419371), but received a Corporate/Business IP under Lumen/Linknet. Support agent Jim refused replacement or refund over 1.5GB used for initial checks, claiming falsely that corporate means residential. Chargeback initiated with my bank.
Silent restriction added after IP reset — support refused to fix or refund
Silent restriction added after IP reset — support refused to fix or refund
I purchased a Static ISP proxy (#1810540) from Proxy-Cheap on July 2, 2026. Before the IP reset, it worked with no effective concurrent-connection limit. After the IP was reset, a 100-concurrent-connection limit appeared on the same proxy, making it unusable for normal work (fingerprint browser, Sing-box proxy nodes, AI development tasks) — everything fails with network errors once the limit is hit.
I opened ticket #167343 and asked support to restore the original configuration, offering to accept a 50 Mbps speed cap or a device-count limit instead. What followed was weeks of contradictory answers from agent Boji:
- First claimed the speed/thread defaults "cannot be reduced," contradicting my own account history (50 Mbps, no enforced limit before the reset).
- Claimed the limit "existed all along, only not displayed" — but later said the change "cuts across all proxy types and users," i.e. something did change.
- Told me to use an upgrade button "near the speed or concurrency" that does not exist on my dashboard; later admitted my proxy supports a speed upgrade but NOT a concurrency upgrade.
- After I reset my password twice in 10+ hours, the dashboard still showed 30+ connections while I wasn't using the proxy at all. Support's explanation: the counter "does not reset immediately" — an admission that it counts stale/phantom connections, on a proxy they describe as "exclusive to one user only."
- Refused to revert the change and refused a pro-rated refund for the remaining term.
The only solution offered was to pay for an upgrade to restore functionality that their own reset took away. Everything above is documented in the ticket thread.
I would not recommend Proxy-Cheap's static ISP proxies to anyone who needs stable, predictable service.
Update Sep 28: the company's final written position remains no refund and no restoration; their public reply invites me to continue on ticket #167343.
Proxy-Cheap
Ideal Use Cases
Proxy-Cheap is a global proxy provider offering rotating residential, mobile, and datacenter IP networks for web intelligence and anonymity.
Ideal Use Cases
- E-commerce & price monitoring: scraping retail sites for pricing information and product listings
- Social media data: managing multiple accounts via a vast global IP address pool
- Travel & hotel pricing: gathering flight options and fares through aggregation proxies
- Market research & review monitoring: conducting undetectable competitor research using rotating IPs
Poor Use Cases
- JavaScript-heavy sites & SPAs: product documentation focuses on proxy routing, not headless rendering
- Real-time, low-latency lookups: residential and mobile connections have inherent network latency
- Screenshots & visual monitoring: no documented native API for capturing page renders
- Large-scale crawling: bandwidth-based pricing makes high-volume media scraping expensive

Integrating Proxy-Cheap
Proxy-Cheap Rotating Residential is a proxy gateway, not a request API: you point any HTTP client at the gateway host:port (proxy-us.proxy-cheap.com:5959 for the US pool, proxy-eu.proxy-cheap.com:5959 for the EU pool) and authenticate with the proxy username and password generated in the dashboard. Rotating Residential supports username/password authentication only (no IP whitelist), over HTTP and, where available, SOCKS5.
curl -x proxy-us.proxy-cheap.com:5959 -U <your-proxycheap-username>:<your-proxycheap-password> https://api.ipify.org
import requestsproxy_user = "<your-proxycheap-username>"proxy_pass = "<your-proxycheap-password>"proxy_host = "proxy-us.proxy-cheap.com:5959"proxy = "http://%s:%s@%s" % (proxy_user, proxy_pass, proxy_host)proxies = {"http": proxy, "https": proxy}resp = requests.get("https://api.ipify.org", proxies=proxies, timeout=15)print(resp.text)
