Squid Proxies User Reviews

Squid Proxies offers a comprehensive range of web scraping and data collection products, from proxies to data sets and data APIs.

User Review Summary

Reviewers frequently praise the service for its stability and speed during web scraping and social media tasks. Many users report a simple setup process and responsive customer support when technical issues arise. However, some customers criticize the provider for changing static addresses without sufficient notice and providing fewer geographic locations than advertised. While most users find the connections reliable, others report high latency and block rates when accessing specific e-commerce sites.

Independently benchmarked: strong on social & search, weaker on Amazon

As ProxyVero, an independent proxy benchmarking platform, we ran SquidProxies'

residential proxies through our standard testing suite: 951 requests across 6

real-world scenarios (Google, Amazon, Instagram, TikTok, Nike, and a generic

HTTPS endpoint) over a 21-day window.

Overall we measured an 89.5% success rate with 740ms average latency. Performance

was consistently strong across social and general-purpose targets — Instagram,

TikTok, Nike, and a generic HTTPS check all landed around 93-94% success with

zero blocks. Google held up reasonably well too, at 87.6% with a modest 6.2%

block rate.

One notable dip occurred during our testing window due to a brief service

disruption on SquidProxies' side. We flagged it to their team the same day it

appeared, and it was resolved within the same day — outside of that incident,

success rates were consistently strong and stable throughout the rest of the

21-day period.

Amazon was the clear weak point in our results: 75.0% success with an 18.8%

block rate and the highest latency we recorded (1,845ms) — worth knowing if

e-commerce scraping or price monitoring is your main use case.

Overall, a solid and responsive residential network for social media, SERP,

and general web automation workloads. We'd recommend testing against your

specific target first if that target is Amazon or another aggressively-

protected e-commerce site.

I am truly disappointed with them.

I am truly disappointed with them.

After three years of using their service and renting a vast number of static IPs/proxies, they repeatedly change IPs without prior notice—or send a notification at the very last minute before immediately taking action.

This poses a significant risk to our sales account systems.

I have contacted them numerous times, but responses take a long time, and when they do reply, the answers are vague and unclear.

I never thought I would have to leave SquidProxies for another provider, but now I have no choice but to accept it.

Integrating Squid Proxies Datacenter

Scrapers connect using a static IP and port 3128. Authentication is handled by whitelisting the server IP in the dashboard or by providing username and password credentials within the connection string.

curl -x http://123.45.67.89:3128 https://api.ipify.org

# Step 1: add this machine's IP to Authorized IPs in the SquidProxies dashboard (https://www.squidproxies.com), then wait 1-3 minutes
import requests
proxy = {
'http': 'http://123.45.67.89:3128',
'https': 'http://123.45.67.89:3128',
}
url = 'https://api.ipify.org'
response = requests.get(url, proxies=proxy, timeout=10)
print(response.text)
