Inconsistent responses

I didn't have any problems getting started and setting up my first request, despite the shallow documentation. Once I added more requests to one of my scheduled jobs, the errors became more frequent. Support did respond to my messages fairly quickly but they weren't able to point me to a solution to the issues. If there were more debugging resources, logs, or more thorough documentation I wouldn't consider switching providers but unfortunately, it's the only option for me.

Extremely poor success rate for popular URLs. Slow and poor customer service. My concurrent connections are stuck at 50% being used when they aren't used at all. Worthless API. Use any other provider out there. This one is beyond buggy.

Herramienta profesional para escrapear contenido

Pros

Ideal Use Cases

WebScrapingAPI is a scraping service accessed via a REST API endpoint. It retrieves page responses by managing routing and browser rendering for dynamic or JavaScript-heavy websites.

Ideal Use Cases

  • E-commerce & price monitoring: Built-in anti-bot handling covers retail site protection.
  • Travel & hotel pricing: JS rendering captures fares on dynamic travel portals.
  • JavaScript-heavy sites & SPAs: Browser-based rendering handles client-side execution.
  • Search engine results (SERP): Dedicated search API features for Google and Bing.

Poor Use Cases

  • Real-time, low-latency lookups: Browser rendering is documented as more expensive and slower.
  • Large-scale crawling: Costs scale per-request rather than by raw bandwidth.
  • Multi-step flows & logged-in sessions: No documented session-pinning or cookie-persistence parameter.
  • Mobile apps & mobile-only content: Lacks documented parameters for mobile-specific carrier IPs.

Integrating WebScrapingAPI

Developers connect to the service via a REST API endpoint. Requests are authenticated by passing the apikey parameter along with the URL-encoded target address.

curl --get "https://api.webscrapingapi.com/v2" \
  --data-urlencode "api_key=<YOUR_API_KEY>" \
  --data-urlencode "url=https://webscrapingapi.com/"

Authentication is handled by passing the apikey as a query parameter to the REST endpoint. Developers provide the target URL via the url parameter and append additional options like country or renderjs as URL-encoded query strings.

import requests
API_KEY = '<YOUR_API_KEY>'
SCRAPER_URL = 'https://api.webscrapingapi.com/v2'
TARGET_URL = 'https://webscrapingapi.com/'
PARAMS = {
"api_key": API_KEY,
"url": TARGET_URL,
}
response = requests.get(SCRAPER_URL, params=PARAMS)
print(response.text)
