ZenRows User Reviews
ZenRows offers a comprehensive range of web scraping and data collection products, from proxies to data sets and data APIs.
User Review Summary
Reviewers frequently praise the service for its ability to bypass anti-bot protections and simplify proxy management. Users find the API easy to integrate and appreciate the time saved by the automated browser features. However, many customers criticize the pricing structure, noting that costs scale quickly and unused credits do not always roll over. While some find the documentation excellent, others report that it lacks clarity for advanced features or needs more video tutorials.
Solid tool with trade-offs—worth it if you're serious about scraping
ZenRows simplified our web scraping workflow significantly. We went from managing our own proxy infrastructure and dealing with constant blocks to having a reliable, hands-off solution. It's not perfect—costs add up and the docs need work—but for our use case, it's worth it. We've been using it for about 3 months and would recommend it to anyone doing serious scraping at scale especially when using it wit Clay.
The rotating proxy system is a lifesaver. We were getting blocked constantly, and ZenRows handles it without extra configuration. Also appreciate the browser automation—saves us from maintaining our own infrastructure. Customer support responds quickly when we hit edge cases.
Pricing scales up quickly if you need high volume. Also, documentation could be clearer for some of the advanced features—took us a while to figure out optimal proxy rotation settings. And response times can lag during peak hours, which was frustrating for time-sensitive scraping jobs.
Keep going!
Basically great, and we will continue to use it for our application. Customers can specify websites whose data they want to receive in a structured format, and we then extract the data and take care of the process automation for them.
Easy to use, and even websites that are more difficult to scrape work as desired. We haven't used the other features yet, but will consider them as soon as we see a use case.
Currently, we are not even close to reaching the number of queries that would be possible, which means we are spending too much on the subscription. A smaller subscription would be ideal for us as a startup, or request-based pricing would be great. Depending on the website, the builder freezes and the page has to be reloaded, which is a bit tedious.
Internet for robots
I started using it because I needed to feed my Llms with current web data, even tho this is not the main use case for the product, works like a charm.
Simple implementation. Simple configuration. Simple results. I use it as a browser for LLMs, and it's beautiful.
Premium calls don't automatically fallback to standard calls upon failure. Same with rendering JavaScript.
ZenRows API
ZenRows is a next-generation Web Scraping API & Data Extraction tool that automatically turns HTMLs into structured data.
Ideal Use Cases
ZenRows API is a web scraping tool used to extract data from static and dynamic websites. Developers access the service via an API endpoint to handle anti-bot bypass, JavaScript rendering, and IP management.
Ideal Use Cases
- E-commerce & price monitoring: Bypasses retail anti-bot protection and handles dynamic pricing.
- JavaScript-heavy sites & SPAs: Headless browser rendering at 5 credits covers client-side pages.
- Travel & hotel pricing: Accesses region-specific localized data via 190+ countries.
- Multi-step flows & logged-in sessions: Maintains same IP/cookies for 10 minutes via session_id.
Poor Use Cases
- Large-scale crawling: 25 credit multiplier for protected sites increases per-page cost.
- Real-time, low-latency lookups: Headless browser rendering adds computational overhead and latency.
- Mobile apps & mobile-only content: Documented IP pools are residential ISP connections, not mobile.
- Multi-step flows & logged-in sessions: Instruction sequences are limited to a 40-second timeout.

Integrating ZenRows API
Developers connect to the service via the HTTPS API endpoint at api.zenrows.com/v1/. Authentication is performed by passing the apikey as a URL query parameter in GET, POST, or PUT requests.
curl "https://api.zenrows.com/v1/?apikey=YOUR_ZENROWS_API_KEY&url=https%3A%2F%2Fhttpbin.io%2Fget&mode=auto"
Authentication is handled via a unique API key passed as the apikey query parameter. Users connect to the endpoint by sending HTTP GET or POST requests with the target URL and optional parameters like premium proxy or JS render included in the query string.
import requestsurl = 'https://httpbin.io/get'apikey = 'YOUR_ZENROWS_API_KEY'params = {'url': url,'apikey': apikey,}response = requests.get('https://api.zenrows.com/v1/', params=params)print(response.text)
